scope
This afternoon I had to go to the mall to get strings and candles and vodka, and while lunching in the food court I watched people walking past and tried to imagine the scope of their potential modification, how skinny or fat they could possibly be, how strong or weak, if they had the ability to change beyond recognition, so that a year away from their loved ones would afford time to vanish in plain sight, walking past husbands and children who do not even think to take a second glance.
